Instruction Services: Library Instruction

Instruction

  • If this is your first time working with us, we invite you to explore this LibGuide first to learn more about our mission, philosophy of learning, and approach to library instruction.
  • Subject librarians work with each department to help integrate information literacy into your curriculum through assignment development, in-person and online instruction, and course guides and learning objects embedded into Springboard.
  • Please contact your subject librarian with the following information when you are ready to submit your instruction request:
    • course name and number
    • number of students
    • 2-3 possible dates/times of instruction
    • specific purpose/assignment/learning outcomes related to the instruction
    • or simply fill out this form: Instruction Request
Embedded subject librarians can provide online instructional support in your classes through Springboard.  This partnership between course instructors and librarians supports student learning at the point of need and promotes information literacy competency.  Embedded librarians contribute to student learning online through:
  • Creating links to library resources tailored for your course, such as database, library course guides (LibGuides) or tutorials
  • Fielding research questions by students through email or discussion boards
  • Collaborating on course-specific assignments (e.g., research logs, worksheets, bibliographies, etc.)
  • Creating modules within your core to help students with research and course assignments
