Curbside & Home Delivery

Patrons select Curbside Pickup or Home Delivery of materials when they place the request for the items. Curbside Pickup and Home Delivery are available for all local, OhioLINK, and Interlibrary Loan requested material.

How to manage requests for Home Delivery of materials

  • When patrons select home delivery, they will receive an email with instructions once their items arrive
  • Patrons are directed to email circ@libanswers2.uakron.edu with their name, student ID, and current address each time they request materials
  • All staff should monitor the email queue in LibAnswers when they are scheduled on Chat and Desk 
  • When a home delivery item arrives at Bierce, student employees place it on the hold shelf under the last name of the patron
  • Once the patron verifies their home address, staff should remove the items from the hold shelf and make sure to check the items out to the patron in Sierra and include the due date on the paperwork in the book
  • Package the requested items in a bubble envelope (mailroom) and tape shut
  • Fill out an address label (cabinet in mailroom, top drawer) and tape on package
  • Place prepared packages in the mail tub on the table in the loading dock

How to view the Curbside Delivery Schedule

  • Log in to LibApps
  • Select LibCal
  • Select Spaces from the top tabs
  • Select Curbside Pickup from the dropdown box
  • Select Confirmed Bookings
  • View options are at the top left. Selections include month, week, day
  • Hovering over bookings on the calendar will reveal patron name and time of pickup
  • Verify items are on the hold shelf and checked out to the patron
  • Patrons may send a text to the library text number (goes to LibChat) or call the desk to initiate their pickup
  • Students/employees should take checked out materials in a plastic bag to the circle outside the back of the library to hand off to the patron
  • If a patron calls and wants to schedule a curbside pickup of materials already requested, manually schedule a curbside pickup time for them, share our text number with them, and tell them to text us when they arrive to pick up their materials. Text number: 330-529-5240
