Information on the University Libraries various open access publishing deals and how to use them

Overview

University Libraries has agreements with various publishers that allow University of Akron researchers to publish their research as open access. This free service allows researchers to make research open access while avoiding the expensive standard article processing charges.

Where and How

Below is the list of publishers that currently partner with University Libraries for open access publishing. Click on the name of the publisher to learn how to submit your research as open access.

IOP (Institute of Physics)

Applies to most hybrid and gold open access journals. You can use IOP's Journal Finder tool to see what journals apply.

Wiley

Applies to Wiley's Hybrid Open Access Journals. For information on how to publish an article on Wiley use Wiley's generic journal publishing tool.

Cambridge

Applies to Cambridge's hybrid and gold open access journal. To see a complete list of journals this deal applies to you can use Cambridge's Waivers and Discounts Tool.

Company of Biologists

Applies to five journals:

  • Development
  • Journal of Cell Science
  • Journal of Experimental Biology
  • Biology Open
  • Disease Models & Mechanisms
