Remote Access to Library Resources

Information on using University Library resources off campus.

This page includes University Library resources that do not follow the standard authentication for off-campus access. On the page navigation, choose the resource you are interested in to see instructions on how to access it.

O'Reilly

  1. Search for and find the University of Akron.

  2. Once University of Akron is selected an email box will appear. Input your University of Akron email.
  3. Select 'Sign in'. If you have created an O'Reilly account you will also be prompted for a password that is separate from your University of Akron sign in.

WRDS

To access WRDS:

  1. Enter your University of Akron email address.
  2. Check the box next to the "I'm not a robot" captcha.
  3. Select "Submit"

  4. You should receive an email, select the first link in the email.

Note: This link will only work for one day. After the link expires you will have to follow the same steps to access again.

OhioLINK Remote Authentication

To access certain OhioLINK resourcess off campus you will need to:

  1. Select "University of Akron" from the institution drop down (type the letter 'u' as a shortcut).
  2. Select "Submit"

  3. You will be redirected to UA's standard Microsoft authentication login if you haven't logged in on this browser already. If you have already logged then you should be directed directly to the resource without having to login.

Factiva and Bloomberg Law

To access Factiva and Bloomberg Tax you will need to connect to the University's VPN. Instructions for connecting to UA's VPN
