The Affordable Learning Initiative is a partnership between The University of Akron, OhioLINK, and the Open Textbook Network working to consolidate efforts around the affordability of textbook/course materials and open education resource adoption.
University of Akron librarians have developed Brightspace content to teach information literacy, research skills, and lifelong learning skills that students can utilize in their courses and apply beyond the University. These online lessons via Brightspace can be assigned in part or whole by course instructors. Enterprising students can also self-enroll. Students will get a certificate of completion for each completed course following a brief assessment. The URLs give you direct access to enroll in the course. You can share these URLs with students in your courses.
