Print Paging Slips and INN-Reach pull slips

Printing daily library paging slips and INN-Reach (OhioLINK) paging slips

Paging slips are printed after opening the library, Monday through Friday for Bierce and Science & Technology Library locations. A paging slip is automatically generated in Sierra when a UA library item is requested by a UA patron or OhioLINK patron. We print these paging slips, also called notices, so that we can pull the requested item and process the local hold or prepare and process the item for shipping through the OhioLINK courier.

How to print paging slips

1. Log into Sierra using your staff login

2. Navigate to the NOTICES function from the function options, top right of Sierra main page.

 

3. The Notices function in Sierra displays all notices that can be run or printed for all library locations. Each individual notice type is numbered on the left side of the list.

4. As of 04/22/2021, we print 5 different types of paging slips.  (Currently, Marie is printing the Science Library paging slips each weekday morning. Staff printing notices from Bierce Library need only print the slips labeled Bierce.)

  • # 7:  Bierce paging slips
  • #11: Science paging slips
  • # 9: Bierce INN-Reach paging slips
  • #16: Science INN-Reach slips
  • #14: Bierce INN-Reach PUA    

5. Select the numbered notice you wish to print.

6. Select the PREPARE icon, top right of page.

7. A dialog box will open. Verify that LOCAL PRINTER is selected, click PRINT.

 

8. A second dialog box will open with specific information about the printer. Verify the printer name is "L844018 (HP Color Laser Jet CP4520 Series) and select PRINT. If you have set Sierra up to print to a different printer, the printer name will be the one you have set up in Sierra. 

 

9. If there are no notices to print in the category you have selected, a dialog box will open saying NO NOTICES TO PRINT.

10. If there are notices to print in the category you have selected, a dialog box will open with details of the number of notices to print and information about the patron and paged items. Select SEND NOTICES. Do not make any changes to the top part of the screen.

 

11. Immediately after selecting SEND NOTICES, a dialog box will open that states, NOTICES HAVE BEEN SENT and gives you the option of selecting FINISH PRINTING or RESEND. Do not make any selection until verifying that all notices have printed correctly.

 

12. If the notices did NOT print correctly, troubleshoot the printer using a different program (Word). When the printer is functioning correctly, select RESEND in the Sierra notices printing dialog box.

13. If the notices did print correctly, select FINISH PRINTING.

14. Close out of the printing dialog box using the CLOSE icon, top right of page.

15. Close out of the second printing dialog box using the same CLOSE icon, top right of page.

16. You can now select another notice to print. Follow the steps above for all notice printing.

17. If you are printing notices from the service desk (recommended), remember to log out of your sierra staff login and log back into the sierra student account.
