ZipAssist serves as a central information hub, intentionally designed to share available resources, and provide support and assistance to help students be successful at The University of Akron.

Wooster Hope Center Food Pantry at UA Wayne College

The Wooster Hope Center and The University of Akron Wayne College have partnered to create a food pantry on campus for students and staff.

Any Wayne College students, faculty, or staff who identify as living at 200% or below the federal poverty guidelines (i.e. less than $24,279 per year for one person) is eligible to use the food pantry once per week.  Go to the Bridges to Campus website for current hours of operation and contact information.

Do you need assistance with food, utilities, housing or other needs?  The United Way provides an excellent referral service that is available 24 hours a day.  Follow the link below to go to the 211 website and enter your zipcode to locate your area's referral service:

2-1-1 (United Way Referral)

2-1-1 is available throughout the United States by phone, text, and the web.  You will be connected with a community resource specialist in your area who can help you find services and resources including:

  • supplemental food and nutrition programs
  • shelter and housing options
  • utilities assistance
  • emergency information and disaster relief
  • employment and education opportunities
  • services for veterans
  • health care, vaccination and health epidemic information
  • addiction prevention and rehabilitation programs
  • support groups
  • a safe and confidential path out of physical or emotional domestic abuse
