Beyond the Picket Fence: The Places and Spaces We Call Home

A LibGuide to compliment "Beyond the Picket Fence: The Places and Spaces We Call Home," an exhibit currently on display at the National Museum of Psychology.

Missing Home

We all know the feeling: perhaps it's a churning in your stomach or an urge to cry. Or perhaps it is just a longing or nostalgia for the familiar and the comfortable. Maybe it happened at your first slumber party or at the end of a long vacation. Homesickness can happen to anyone, whether you're only away for one night or you've moved to an entirely new city: The experiences can affect us both psychologically and physically. But we need to leave hoe to miss home, right?
