Reminders for the end of the semester
Dear Access Liaisons,
Finals week is fast approaching and this is the final communication the accessibility committee is sending out this semester. If you could please fill out this final survey it would very helpful. It will help us gauge how useful these communications have been and will greatly influence the changes we make to the communication we send out next semester. The previous survey has already prompted discussion and ideas on what we can improve and how we can better keep faculty informed on accessibility information. Here are some final reminders in relation to students with accommodations.
Please ensure your testing agreements are up to date for final’s week. This includes updating the amount of time students get to test, the date, time, and the return method of an exam.
If a student has testing accommodations, you should have completed the Alternative Testing Agreement. The link for this can be found in the student’s letter of accommodation in the red box. it looks like this:
Student is eligible for Alternative Testing services. Please fill out the alternative testing agreement for the student by using the following link: Alternative Testing Agreement (or copy and paste the following link to your browser: https://york.accessiblelearning.com/Akron/TestingAgreement.aspx?ID=78427&CID=283720&Key=i3oOpEJV), or by logging into the Instructor Portal. If you would like to have the agreement copied to another class, you can do so in the Instructor Portal or by emailing your request to access@uakron.edu.
You can also access this link in the Instructor Portal. See the alternative testing documentation for how to complete the agreement, edit it, or just see what the agreement contains. If you can’t locate the student’s Letter of Accommodation, you can see it in the Instructor Portal. Here are the instructions for finding an accommodation letter.
Students must request a testing room a full week in advance of finals to ensure a room. Here are instructions for scheduling a room.
If you have any questions or need more specific information, contact the accessibility office or reach out to the student's Disability Specialist (found on their accommodation letter). See other Accessibility Liaison Communication.
Thank you for working with the office of Accessibility to provide students with disabilities with equal access to a quality education.
Regards,
Accessibility Committee
