National Poetry Month | April

University Libraries  at The University of Akron is celebrating National Poetry Month by highlighting select print books, streaming videos, eBooks, and streaming audio from our collections.  In the spirit of acknowledging and celebrating inclusive stories, we invite you to learn about the lives and experiences of authors, composers, characters, and historical figures by exploring the resources we've highlighted on this guide.  If you're on campus during April please stop by and visit our display at Bierce Library.

Launched by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996, National Poetry Month is a special occasion that celebrates poets’ integral role in our culture and that poetry matters. Over the years, it has become the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, K–12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, families, and—of course—poets, marking poetry’s important place in our lives.*
