VPN Setup

Download

Open Google Play Store and search 'FortiClient VPN'.

Install and Open the app. Select 'OK' acknowledging that this is the free version of FortiClient.

Review the privacy policy highlights and select 'I ACCEPT'

Select 'OK' for the pop-up of FortiClient asking to grant permission to show notifications (this does not enable notifications).

Select whether to allow or don't allow notifications. Notifications don't need to be enabled but if you select 'Don't Allow' Forticlient will likely get the same pop-up when using FortiClient VPN in the future.

Select 'Enable' or 'Cancel' for unrestricted battery usage. It is not necessary to enable but you might see this notification again if you select 'Cancel'.

Setup

• Enter UA VPN for the name
• Select the 'SSL VPN' for VPN type
• Select 'Create'

In the settings:

• Select the 'Servers' option
• Input vpn.uakron.edu - Might require a couple of extra clicks as it switches between server and remote gateway.
• Enable Single Sign On
• Select 'OK' twice
• Select the back arrow on the top left of the page
• Select 'Connect'
  
• Select 'Continue Anyway' or 'Enable' for Unrestricted Battery Usage notification. This does not need to be enabled.
  
   
• Allow the app to run in the background
• Select Proceed for the Untrusted Certificate pop-up
   
• Login using your University of Akron sign-in

And you should be connected to the VPN.
