We suggest you begin your research in the LIBRARY CATALOG. Here you can find many articles, books, theses and dissertations, along with scores and sound recordings. You'll find resources available through The University of Akron libraries as well as in academic libraries across Ohio. This catalog is new to us as of the summer of 2025. We're still learning how optimize it for our patrons.
Be aware that coverage in the library catalog is very extensive, but it doesn't include everything; this is particularly true for research articles. If you're not finding what you need in the library catalog, try exploring the specialized research databases listed in the next section.
