Getting Articles from Google Scholar

You can access OhioLink articles through Google Scholar!!

That's right, you can actually use Google Scholar to access many of the same articles you would get through the University of Akron Libraries databases.  This is by design and you only need to follow the instructions on the main page of this guide. 

The main differences in access via Google Scholar as opposed to UA Library databases are the following:

  • The ORDER of results is different--Google Scholar does not necessarily put the most recently published information towards the tops of your result list  (to change this, see below)
  • Google Scholar does not necessarily search the same way that library databases do, so results for the exact same search will be different (though there will certainly be overlap).
  • Although many of the same features are offered on both Google Scholar and UA databases, they are not in the same place on your screen (see below for examples)

You can create Citations on Google Scholar, though the feature is inconspicuous!!
