Federal Dockets

A docket is a list of what pleadings and motions were filed in the case, as well as the court rulings and the final decision.

PACER
The official docket for federal courts, except for the U.S. Supreme Court. Ten cents a page, court opinions are free and less than $30 a quarter is free of charge.

Retrieve federal court dockets for free, but filings are not accessible, except for court opinions.
RECAP
A free extension for Firefox or Chrome. When you go on PACER, you have free access to documents which other RECAP users (including you!) have accessed from PACER.
RECAP also can create a docket alert for PACER.

Bloomberg Law
Contains the same dockets as on PACER. Sometimes you must update the dockets manually. Academic users can retrieve the filings for free. Searches the docket and the underlying filings by keyword and many fields. Alerts available.

Search dockets and set up alerts. Federal and many state courts available. Use docket information to create strategic profiles for litigants, attorneys, and judges, and statistics for courts and nature of suit.
