Welcome to Interlibrary Loan, a free service for current students, staff, and faculty to request resources from other libraries around the world.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is available when searches through the UA Library Search provide no results due to materials not being owned, checked out, or missing. The UA Library Search will return results for locally owned materials, OhioLINK and SearchOhio materials, and more.
Interlibrary Loan requests may be cancelled if:
- the material is found to be available locally
- loan costs are beyond what library budget allows (ex. international loans can be especially costly)
- copyright or publisher restrictions prevent a loan (ex. industry standards such as ANSI, ISO, etc.)
- the format type requested is not loanable (ex. etextbooks or streaming videos)
- there are no available lenders
Questions or concerns about Interlibrary Loan may be addressed to ill@uakron.edu or 330-972-6193.
