Introduction to Nursing: Career Interest Article Search

ILL Services for New 2024-25 Students and Faculty:

New 2024-2025 students and faculty will need to place Interlibrary Loan requests by emailing ask@uakron2.libanswers.com.
Returning Students and Faculty should use the Standard Interlibrary Loan request page.

After attending the library in-class lecture:

• Select a nursing specialty or nursing career area of interest.
• Find one peer-reviewed article from a professional nursing journal related to that nursing specialty or nursing career area of interest.
• The article must include the following to qualify:
  • The first author is a nurse.
  • The article was published in the past 5 years.
• Download a PDF of the article and submit into the appropriate box in Brightspace.
• Submit a reference of the article in APA format and submit it in Brightspace.

1. Brainstorm your topic.
2. Search for your topic in the CINAHL Database.
3. Use a search strategy that combines appropriate keywords, Boolean operators, truncation
4. Limit search results:
   • First author is a nurse
   • Publication is scholarly / peer-reviewed
   • Publication date is after 2020
5. Carefully review search results, modify search strategy if needed
6. Locate the full text of the article as full text or request using the Interlibrary Loan service.
