New Equipment is available to assist with online instruction: we have added eight USB mics, and six Intuos Graphics Drawing Tablets. These items circulate only to faculty. In addition, 15 Webcams can circulate to any student, staff, or faculty.
Request Library Instruction - Library faculty can provide course-integrated instruction to help students with specific assignments. We can also create online guides to help students.
Put Materials on Library Reserve for Students - We can reserve physical and electronic materials needed for your courses.
Affordable Learning Initiative connects Faculty interested in exploring additional free and open alternatives to traditional course materials.
Expanded access with contactless services:
Research support via online chat, text or email staffed approximately 70 hours per week.
Get Materials with Inter-Library Loan - If we don't have it, we will try to get it.
Library pickup and curbside service makes books and laptops available through the lobby, curbside, and mail.
University of Akron librarians have been busy developing Brightspace content to teach information literacy, research skills, and lifelong learning skills that students can transfer to other courses and apply beyond the University. These online lessons via Brightspace can be assigned in part or whole by course instructors or enterprising students can self-enroll. Students will get a certificate of completion for each following a brief assessment. The URLs give you direct access to enroll in the course. You can share these URLs with students in your courses.
